Statement of Faith
1. The Holy Scriptures
We affirm that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will and the final, authoritative standard for faith, doctrine, and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16–17
2. The Triune God
We affirm that there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three co-equal and co-eternal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Godhead is distinct in role yet united in essence, executing the divine work of creation and redemption according to the eternal plan of salvation. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
3. The Person of the Holy Spirit
We affirm the full deity and personhood of the Holy Spirit. Scripture identifies Him as a divine person who may be known, grieved, and obeyed, and equates Him with God. As the third person of the Trinity, He is fully God. John 14:15–17, 25–26; Acts 5:3–4; Romans 5:5
4. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
We affirm that through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, believers are regenerated, sanctified, and empowered to live a godly life in obedience to Christ. Romans 8:9
5. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We affirm the full deity and perfect humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death through the shedding of His blood for the forgiveness of sins, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His visible, personal return in power and glory. We confess Jesus as both Savior and Lord. Colossians 1:13–20; Philippians 2:5–11; Revelation 1:17–18
6. Christ the Sole Mediator
We affirm that the Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only mediator between God and humanity. 1 Timothy 2:5
7. Salvation by Grace through Faith
We affirm that all humanity is fallen and estranged from God through sin, and that salvation is received solely by the grace of God through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, accomplished by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. Romans 3:23–26; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8–9
8. The Atoning Work of Christ
We affirm the saving, atoning, and redemptive work of Jesus Christ, accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection. As our propitiation, He bore our sin and satisfied divine justice, so that through faith in Him we receive forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life. 1 Peter 2:24; 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:15–21; Romans 3:25; 5:8–10; 8:1–4
9. The Voluntary Sacrifice of Christ
We affirm that the death of Jesus Christ was voluntary and purposeful, offered in obedience to the Father and motivated by divine love for humanity while we were yet sinners. John 10:14–18; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 5:2; 1 Timothy 2:5–6
10. Salvation in Christ Alone
We affirm that salvation is found in Christ alone, for “there is no other name under heaven given among mankind by which we must be saved.” This salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8–9
11. The Great Commission
We affirm that participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission is the responsibility of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19–20
12. The Spiritual Unity of Believers
We affirm the spiritual unity of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. This unity, established in Scripture, is effected by the Holy Spirit and transcends all denominational, ethnic, and cultural distinctions. John 17:20–23; 1 Corinthians 12:12–13
13. The Resurrection and Final Judgment
We affirm the bodily resurrection of all humanity: the saved to eternal life in the presence of God, and the lost to eternal condemnation and separation from God. John 5:24–25, 28–29
14. Creation
We affirm that the universe was created by the direct act of God as revealed in Holy Scripture. Every form of life was created according to its kind, established by divine design and purpose. Genesis 1:1; John 1:1–3
15. Marriage and Human Sexuality
We affirm that God created and ordained marriage at creation as a sacred covenantal union between one man and one woman, for life. This union reflects Christ and the Church and is the biblical context for sexual intimacy and procreation. Accordingly, we reject all attempts to redefine marriage. We further affirm that human identity is divinely assigned as male and female, and that practices inconsistent with biblical teaching, including homosexual conduct and alternative gender identities, are contrary to God’s revealed will. Genesis 1:27–28; 2:15–24; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 7:14
16. The Sanctity of Human Life
We affirm that human life is sacred, created in the image of God, and possesses inestimable worth from conception to natural death. This includes the preborn, the aged, and persons with physical or mental disabilities. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and honor all human life. Psalm 139
17. The Gospel
We affirm the Gospel as defined and declared by the Apostle Paul: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. This is the good news by which we are saved when received with faith. 1 Corinthians 15:1–4
